Overview

Therapist - Domestic Violence Survivor Services at Synergy Services. Position: Therapist in the Family Care - Domestic Violence Survivor Services program. Status: Full-Time, Hourly position.

Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment and treatment services to clients and their families in the Batterer's Intervention Program, including initial assessment, testing, individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, group therapy, art therapy, play therapy, psycho-educational groups, and support groups.
  • Direct clinical counseling services 22-25 hours per week for a full-time therapist; hours prorated for part-time staff.
  • Clinical case management and follow-up for victims and clients of the Batterer's Intervention Program, including support calls, intake calls, coordinating services, and representation at legal proceedings; document and maintain client files per agency standards.
  • Maintain and submit numerical counts of Batterer's Intervention Program activities (e.g., LAP, MCADSV, MAACLink).
  • Participate in weekly peer supervision and individual supervision as needed; pursue professional development and licensure/credentialing as appropriate.
  • Assist in program development, planning, problem solving, and attend program meetings.
  • Engage in Performance and Quality Improvement activities as required; perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. The employee may assist practicum and intern students by sharing experience and training.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree (M.A.) in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, art therapy, or other applied behavior science.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional materials; ability to write reports and present information to groups.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must be at least 21 years old; ability to pass a background check with fingerprinting and a drug screen.
  • Proficiency with general office software (Windows, Word, Outlook, Assess, PowerPoint).
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

Master's Degree in the behavioral sciences required; licensure or credentialing as appropriate per role.

  • Ability to perform essential duties with reasonable accommodations as needed.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work with diverse populations.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
