The Opportunity: Agoda is seeking a seasoned FinTech & Payments lawyer with a proven track record (ideally APAC experience) to provide strategic legal advice on regulated and non-regulated FinTech and Payments activities. This role reports to the Senior Legal Director Fintech & Payments and supports Agoda's global FinTech and Payments strategies.

The selected candidate will advise on regulatory strategy, scheme rules, product development and user experience, and will lead complex projects with cross-functional teams to define the future of Agoda's booking and payments experience. The role is based in Bangkok with relocation support; remote work from outside Bangkok is not available.

You will have the chance to contribute to a digital payments initiative and work with financial and payment services providers globally.

Relocation is provided.

• Report directly to the Senior Legal Director, Fintech & Payments, supporting all legal matters related to FinTech and payments impacting Agoda globally. This includes ensuring compliant activities, designing and operating FinTech/payments product initiatives, and leading negotiations and contractual arrangements related to FinTech and payments.
• Engage cross-functionally in a matrix structure with stakeholders in technology, product, risk, compliance and finance, and interact with senior stakeholders within Agoda, Booking Holdings, and related brands.
• Support the Senior Legal Director to manage and develop a growing team, external counsels, and budgets; horizon scan for emerging payments and regulatory issues impacting the business globally.
• Provide practical, commercial and actionable legal advice on regulated and unregulated financial and payments products and services.

• Minimum 12 years of experience in FinTech, Payments, or Financial Services law; ideally with top-tier law firm experience or experience in a major tech company.
• Law degree from a top law school with excellent academic credentials.
• Native or fluent English speaking and writing skills.
• Excellent writing, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong understanding of the global payment regulatory environment, with APAC focus; experience advising on cross-border and multi-jurisdictional regulatory issues.
• Experience advising on FinTech/payments, product development, and working with stakeholders across legal areas and other functions (Commercial, Regulatory, Privacy, Tax, Treasury, Product, Finance, etc.).
• Strong project management and leadership abilities; comfortable working under pressure and navigating change and ambiguity.
• Positive attitude, integrity, curiosity, and a solution-oriented approach.
• Willingness to learn new technologies; experience in a technology/digital legal environment is desirable.
• Relocation is provided.
