Navigator College is seeking a Canteen Assistant responsible for the day-to-day management of the College Canteen, maintaining a courteous, welcoming, efficient, productive, and high-quality service for students, parents, visitors, and staff. The position is for 30 hours per week, working 38 hours.
The Canteen Assistant must present a positive image of the school at all times, promoting a healthy sense of community and care within the College.
The Canteen Assistant should demonstrate relevant theoretical knowledge and have the technical knowledge or experience to perform a wide variety of duties usually without technical instruction. The role may involve handling personal, confidential, and sensitive information.
Regular Duties Include:
- Operate the school canteen, including supervision of Lutheran School Officers and volunteers.
- Be a certified food safety supervisor.
- Adhere to the Canteen and Healthy Foods Policy.
- Manage the QKR app and ensure transactions are correct.
- Prepare food for recess and lunch orders.
- Serve at recess and lunch.
- Prepare lunch orders.
- Maintain the menu in collaboration with the Finance Manager.
- Order food and materials as required.
- Maintain cleanliness of the canteen at all times.
- Undertake termly stock takes.
- Maintain records for food safety compliance (e.g., recording fridge, freezer, pie warmer temperatures).
- Provide food service to all members of the College community who visit the canteen.
- Ensure proper food handling and hygiene practices to prevent spoilage and contamination.
- Handle cash securely and restrict entry to authorized personnel only.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as requested.
