We currently have an opportunity as a **Toolmaker** here at Boeing Aerostructures Australia (BAA) based onsite in **Port Melbourne** on a **full-time permanent basis**.

As a Toolmaker you will be responsible for the manufacture, repair and/or modification of tooling and equipment used in the manufacture of aircraft components and assemblies. You will be responsible for performing a range of activities in support of tooling used on the site including general & precision machining, fabrication, fitting & assembly, basic carpentry and bench work.

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Manufacture, repair, and/or modification of tooling and equipment required for use by production in the manufacture and assembly of aircraft components
- Analysis of relevant technical documentation including drawings and specification data to identify manufacturing requirements
- Assisting with the investigation and resolution of tooling issues / problems encountered during production
- Maintaining tool work records through the effective use of the BAA TRACS system
- Provision of technical advice to production on matters associated with tooling maintenance, manufacture, and repair
- Ensuring that work performed is carried out safely and competently and complies with company safety requirements at all times
- Ensuring the delivery of all work assignments are completed in an effective and efficient manner

**Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience)**:

- Qualifications as a Toolmaker or relevant trade is essential
- Demonstrated industry experience in a tooling manufacture & maintenance environment (preferably jigs & fixtures)
- Currency in the operation of range on tool room equipment / tools including use of mills, lathes, grinders, drills, surface grinders, hand and measuring equipment
- Demonstrated experience in reading, interpreting and understanding technical drawings, specifications and other associated technical documentation
- Flexibility to work across day and afternoon shift depending on operational requirements
- Sound knowledge of quality assurance processes and procedures
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills
- Self starter / driven and motivated
- Positive and flexible attitude with the ability to work effectively in a team orientated environment
- Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements
