Overview

Amazon Web Services is seeking a dynamic and motivated Account Manager to join our Public Sector team in Melbourne. The territory covers a portfolio of State Government customers across Victoria, working on impactful projects involving AI, data, analytics, cloud and IT modernisation. AWS is focused on innovation and customer obsession, continually reinventing the future of cloud computing.

Responsibilities
  • Increase adoption of AWS cloud services in a defined territory
  • Challenge outdated approaches to IT — utilise internal resources to drive customer outcomes
  • Increase revenue across a portfolio of customers
  • Drive adoption in a defined set of accounts to meet or exceed revenue targets
  • Create and maintain a robust sales pipeline of opportunities in existing accounts as well as driving net new business
  • Create and articulate a compelling value proposition to customers
  • Analyze sales/metrics data from your accounts to help evolve the strategy
  • Accelerate customer adoption through education and engagement — build, develop and then execute on an account and territory strategy
  • Work with AWS partners to manage joint selling opportunities
  • Assist customers in identifying use cases for adoption of cloud services
  • Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts
Basic Qualifications
  • 3-5 years+ account management and/or business development experience in the IT industry
  • Experience in enterprise technology and business solutions sales
  • Sales experience with a focus on quota-carrying roles
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience selling cloud and/or SaaS solutions into government
  • Experience working with consulting partners and system integrators
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent
