We're excited to launch a brand-new café at our Pozieres Retirement Living Village in Port Macquarie, and we're looking for a passionate and experienced Café Manager to lead the way.

This is a unique opportunity to build something meaningful from the ground up — in a supportive, community-focused environment. Serving our wonderful residents, guests, and visitors, this role offers the chance to manage a vibrant café space that delivers quality, connection and care.

What You'll Do

In this hands-on leadership role, you will:

Oversee the daily operations of the café, ensuring smooth service from open to close

Lead a small team, setting high standards for customer care and food presentation

Develop the café offering to suit the needs and tastes of our residents and visitors

Manage food orders, costs, and stock rotation, ensuring compliance with food safety standards

Coordinate functions and special events within the village in collaboration with the Village Manager

Onboard and train new staff, promoting a culture of service excellence

Work with the Village Manager to deliver marketing and event plans that drive café patronage

Foster a warm, inclusive, and community-oriented café environment

What You Bring

Experience as a Café Manager or in a similar hospitality leadership role

Knowledge of Food Handling Legislation, including HACCP requirements

A passion for customer service and building relationships with regular patrons

A Diploma in Hospitality Management (preferred but not essential)

General computer literacy and confident communication skills

A current Police Check and/or NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)

Availability to work Wednesday to Sunday, as per the hours above

A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision
