Optical Administration Assistant, Full Time

Location: Margate, Redcliffe Peninsula

Dwyer & Ross Optometry has been providing trusted eye care to our community for over 60 years. We're seeking a professional, organised individual to join our team in a health administration role supporting patient care and practice operations.

About The Role

You'll be the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring every visit is welcoming and seamless. Your day will include:

  • Greeting patients and managing front desk reception.
  • Coordinating appointments, recalls, and patient records with accuracy.
  • Handling phone enquiries with a polished, well-spoken manner.
  • Processing payments (EFTPOS, HICAPS) and managing banking tasks.
  • Assisting patients in selecting frames once trained.

Who We're Looking For
  • Previous experience in health administration, medical reception, or optical/healthcare preferred.
  • Professional phone manner with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confident computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • A friendly, polished approach and genuine desire to support patient care.
  • Presents in clean, neat, and professional attire suitable for a healthcare environment. We respect and accommodate religious, cultural, and medical dress requirements.
