On behalf of our client, a global leader in the design and installation of "smart factories" and intralogistics automation solutions, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Site Manager for their Melbourne branch.
Our client is internationally recognized for its ability to deliver integrated, turnkey solutions and is currently in a phase of strong growth. With a history of innovation dating back to the 1980s and the introduction of the first Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs), they have established themselves as a strategic partner to the world's largest manufacturers in the beverage, food, and tissue industries. Their culture is built on teamwork, integrity, and a relentless commitment to improvement—values that make them a globally certified leader in excellence.
This is a unique opportunity to join a stable organization with a clear vision and pioneering projects worldwide.
The Role
We are looking for a professional to fill a newly created position, which is crucial for supporting the Field Manager with the operational management and progress of construction sites. As the Site Manager, you will be the central coordinator for the installation and commissioning of automation systems at client facilities.
Your Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate all phases of on-site activities, from mobilisation to final installation.
- Supervise the progress of works, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, and quality and safety standards.
- Organise and execute the final testing and commissioning of the systems.
- Act as the primary interface between the client, external suppliers, and internal technical teams.
- Collaborate closely with the Field Manager, reporting on project progress and managing any issues that arise.
Who We're Looking For (Essential Requirements)
- Must hold Australian Permanent Residency.
- Excellent command of the English language (written and spoken).
- A minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Site Manager or in coordinating complex construction/installation sites.
- A background in related industries such as industrial automation or manufacturing.
- Solid technical knowledge of automation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (proficiency in AutoCAD is required).
- A valid driver's license and your own vehicle.
- Full availability to travel approximately 70% of the time.
- Strong flexibility and adaptability in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders at all levels.
What We Offer
Our client is committed to providing a competitive package and a work environment that values its people. The offer includes:
- A permanent employment contract governed by the Modern Employment Award.
- Travel allowances to cover expenses during travel.
- Continuous Professional Development: Costs covered for certification renewals and training courses.
Location: Melbourne, Australia (with travel across Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia - 70% of the time)
If you have the required skills and are ready for a new challenge in a cutting-edge industry, we encourage you to submit your application.
