Human Resources Trainee Officer (Identified) – NSW Health. Identified Aboriginal position. Exemption is given from sections 8 and 51 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).

Role

The HR Trainee Officer will work alongside the Manager, Aboriginal Workforce Development to support the growth and retention of the workforce. The trainee will work across various teams including Workplace Relations, Recruitment and Onboarding, Organisational Development and Aboriginal Health. Initial training with Justice Health NSW will be undertaken via a formal traineeship with a direct pathway to a career with Justice Health on successful completion.

Responsibilities
  • On the job studying towards a Certificate III in Business (HR electives) or Certificate IV in Human Resources.
  • Liaise with the People and Culture team to support Aboriginal workforce matters.
  • Assist with routine administration tasks.
  • Respond to email and telephone enquiries from colleagues and candidates regarding Justice Health NSW positions.
  • Comply with NSW Health and Justice Health policies and procedures.
  • Plan, implement, deliver, and evaluate Aboriginal Health Workforce initiatives within Justice Health NSW and joint Aboriginal Health Initiatives with Corrective Services NSW and community stakeholders.
  • Maintain confidentiality and manage highly sensitive information.
  • Participate in and support Justice Health events, meetings or activities for Aboriginal Workforce.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team, including processing HR documentation, managing HR inbox and correspondence, preparing reports, and assisting with HR policy implementation.
