About the School
Cleveland Education and Training Centre (CETC) is a Department of Education facility located within the Cleveland Youth Detention Centre in Townsville, serving young people aged 10 to 18 years from across North Queensland, including remote and island communities. The centre provides a meaningful and structured learning environment designed to equip incarcerated youth with the skills and knowledge needed to make positive life choices. Since 2022, CETC operates on a 48-week year, requiring staff to be flexible with leave arrangements outside standard school holiday periods and to work on a rostered schedule.
About the Role
As the Human Resource Timetable Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the Leadership Team, Head of Departments and the Business Manager. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating the daily timetabling of students and staff, including room allocations.
- Assisting in a variety of HR duties such as managing staff absences and leave.
- Providing operational support and advice on HR matters in collaboration with the Business Manager.
- Starting work at 6:30 am to ensure timetables are finalised by 8:30 am.
- Acting as an Excel specialist within the centre.
This role requires excellent Microsoft Excel skills, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to engage professionally and effectively with a wide range of staff.
