There are nine surgical specialties in Australasia being: Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery.

About the role

You will be responsible for managing annual scientific meetings for RACS affiliated associations in addition to providing high level input into the College's Annual Scientific Congress (ASC). The primary objective of the position is to be responsible for leading and coordinating the planning, management, and execution of high-profile events, ensuring all operational elements are delivered within strict timelines and budgets.

Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
- Oversee onsite delivery during key events, including supervision of staff and volunteers to ensure seamless execution and high stands of performance.
- Provide expert advice and support to colleagues in the operational process for ASC including registrations, invoices and billing, reporting, query resolution and onsite registration management.
- Provide technical advice to senior stakeholders and develop virtual platforms
- Identify and engage sponsors/exhibitors and monitor sponsorship deliverables to ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Providing strategic recommendations by producing comprehensive reports and analyses for quality control and continuous improvement of event activities

Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience in strategising, planning, and executing conferences and events of varying scales
- High level competence with event related software, such as EventsAir
- Advanced computer skills including webpage editing and virtual platform development
- Ability to shift priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities in a pressured and challenging environment
- Experience training and mentoring junior team members
