Salary Range: Band 7 - $132, $144,942.00 per annum, 36.25 hr week plus 17.5% leave loading, plus 14% superannuation and access to flexible working arrangements. Work Type: Permanent Full-time x 2. Locations: Carina and Sherwood bus depots. Remuneration stated is for full-time positions and effective from 08 October 2025.

Locations: Carina and Sherwood bus depots. This role supports Brisbane City Council's readiness for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Public Transport Services operate and maintain one of the largest public transport fleets in Australia. The bus garages provide onsite dedicated maintenance, cleaning and refuelling and employee amenities.

The Garage Manager provides strong and proactive leadership to deliver a range of maintenance and repair services contributing to a safe, efficient, and reliable bus and metro service for the travelling public. You will operate a safe, efficient, strategic, and cost-effective garage through active planning, control, and optimisation of garage resources and activities. Reporting to the Manager, Vehicle Maintenance, you will take ownership of your garage to ensure the core business of fleet maintenance is delivered in line with budget. You will have four direct reports and be overall responsible for leading, guiding and developing the wider team of heavy vehicle mechanics, auto electricians, coach builders, bus assistants, and trade apprentices. Partner with a range of customers and stakeholders including other garage managers and external providers to drive safety, continuous improvements, and future business efficiencies.

• experience in applying relevant legislative, safety and maintenance standards in a fleet maintenance environment
• evidence of capabilities in Council's Leadership Blueprint
• strong values-based leadership skills, with ability to mentor and guide a diverse team
• experience in strategic business planning initiatives to drive continuous improvement
• well-developed skills and experience in the preparation and management of budgets
• highly developed interpersonal, consultation and negotiation skills
• a C class licence is essential to perform this role.
