About The Role

As an Engagement and Marketing Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring you identify, plan, deliver, and evaluate community engagement activities that enhance public participation and strengthen the connection between Narrabri Shire Council and its stakeholders. This role will also focus on developing and implementing marketing and tourism initiatives to effectively promote Narrabri Shire.

The position requires a proactive approach to communication, ensuring that the community is informed and engaged while showcasing the Shire's unique attributes.

In this role you will be responsible for acting as a point of contact for internal and external engagement enquiries whilst promoting Council's role, projects, activities and services to the local and wider community.

Other Key Responsibilities Include
  • Developing engagement plans, whilst utilising time sensitive written materials to promote Council events and activities
  • Develop and assist with design, production and distribution of promotional and marketing material for tourism purposes including relevant websites and a social media presence
  • Assist and improve Council's engagement processes to ensure needs of the local community are reflected during initiative development
  • Represent Council at a range of stakeholder events including community meetings and expos. Ensuring Narrabri Shire's corporate image is maintained whilst complying with relevant policies and procedures

About You

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of experience in community engagement and communications, with a focus on delivering impactful campaigns. You will possess strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to collaborate effectively with different stakeholders to ensure effective communication and public participation.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Also Possess
  • Qualifications or experience in community engagement, communications, or consultation
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing communications campaigns
  • Understanding of modern communication technologies, including social media and analytics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
