The City of Rockingham is an award-winning local government located 40 km south of the Perth CBD, known as the place where the coast comes to life. This part-time role is a key member of the Planning and Development Services team, providing administrative support and assisting the public with general town planning matters.

Salary and employment details are pro-rata for part-time hours and include a competitive package.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support for planning applications and development approval processes handled by various technical Officers.
  • Assist the public with general town planning matters and coordinate with planning teams as required.
  • Support the Manager Statutory Planning and contribute to a busy, change-driven work environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and interpersonal communication with diverse stakeholders and maintain high attention to detail and time management.
Qualifications
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Developed customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload.
  • High level of keyboard/computer literacy.
  • Sound knowledge of the MS Office suite and administrative procedures.
Employment Details
  • Position: Planning Administration Officer (Part-time, 20.5 hours per week)
  • Hours: Wednesday 4 hours, Thursday 8.5 hours, Friday 8 hours
  • Salary: Gross salary of $83,781 per annum (pro-rata for part-time hours)
  • Benefits: 12% superannuation with option to co-contribute up to 5% (total up to 22%), health and wellbeing programs, training and paid study leave, and salary packaging opportunities
