About The Role
As an Director, Insurance Partnerships within our ANZ Insurance Team, you will lead the development and optimization of CG's partnerships with our insurer panel throughout Australia and New Zealand. The key goal is the effective placement of our business and optimization of these partnerships in line with company KPIs and goals. To drive success in this role, you will have a strong commercial acumen, a good understanding of General & Life Insurance (including regional regulatory requirements), and a solid network of the local insurance/reinsurance markets. Experience in Broking or MGA placement of risk and managing Mutuals is a plus.
As the leader of the Insurance Partnerships function you will oversee our relationships with key insurance partners, negotiate insurance/reinsurance and commercial terms, and drive to maximize profitability. Regular collaboration with CG's Partnerships and Partner Services teams will be key to ensure effective and timely placement of the business and the best commercial terms for CG's ANZ Insurance team.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the insurance carrier strategy and develop a strong and sustainable panel of insurance partners across the ANZ region
- Own the effective placement and ongoing operational management of CG business with these insurance partners within prescribed timelines, including reporting, payments, due diligence, audits, etc.
- Drive an innovative and disruptive culture within the business and with our partners, leading your team to ensure the highest standards of conduct
- Lead the negotiations of insurance contracts
- Develop and own an Insurance Partner monitoring dashboard with clear expectations, targets and results; focus on operational, compliance, performance and efficiency metrics
What you will bring:
- Minimum 8–10 years experience in the insurance market at a broker, insurer, Third-Party Administrator or MGA with a focus on partnerships and insurance placements
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and influencing C-suite stakeholders
- Ability to manage and motivate a high-performing team of insurance product, partnership and pricing professionals
- Experience owning and developing insurance partnerships and ongoing portfolio management
- Experience in putting together concise pitch documents to support business placement or partner negotiations
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly in writing and verbally
- Solutions-oriented with a customer-centric approach to insurance design
- Experience working with global insurers/reinsurers and multi-market programs is desirable
- Experience producing business in multiple markets is an advantage
- Experience in product entry strategies, product design and growing revenue
- Experience managing and running affinity programs is a plus
- A can-do and execution-focused attitude
- Professional approach with the ability to adapt in fast-paced environments
