The Kick-off Story

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has awarded Football Australia hosting rights for the 2026 edition of the AFC Women's Asian Cup. This marks Australia\'s second time hosting the event, after previously staging it in 2006, and follows the success of co-hosting the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

LOC Office – The Kick-off Story

You will be part of a Local Organising Committee (LOC), which has been established for the sole purpose of delivering the 2026 edition of the AFC Women\'s Asian Cup in Australia. This prestigious event will bring together 12 nations in a tournament structured into three groups of four. We are eager to create another tournament that celebrates women\'s football and multicultural Australia and also delivers legacy outcomes for football and Australian society more broadly.

Please note that this role is fixed term from January until March 2026.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate on-site venue logistics with Venue Operations, managing contractors, temporary infrastructure, and the Master Delivery Schedule (MDS).
• Lead the stadium logistics team to deliver and place furniture, fittings, equipment, and overlay elements (e.g., fencing, tents, cabins, media tribunes).
• Build strong relationships with stadium staff, volunteers, suppliers, broadcast, sponsors, service providers, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure safe, timely, and compliant delivery of all venue operations, identifying risks, solving challenges, and adhering to WHS and tournament standards.
• Provide hands-on support for Dressing and Signage, ensuring brand alignment, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining the tournament's look and feel.
• Contribute to project management, debriefs, and documentation, while demonstrating flexibility for long hours, weekends, and live-event demands.

• Full working rights in Australia (please note that due to the fixed-term nature of the tournament, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this position)
• Working with children check (paid/employee) or state-based equivalent
• International Criminal History Record for each country (other than Australia) in which you have resided for 12 months or more in the last 10 years (if applicable)
• Out of hours and weekend work as required
