Overview

Paxon Group is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join its growing Private Client Services Division within its Perth office. The firm will consider both full-time and part-time candidates and offers flexible working arrangements to cater for personal circumstances. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop to a Manager level, and Paxon will assist with professional education qualifications in reaching CPA or CA status.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation of financial statements
  • Preparation of income tax returns for all entity types
  • Sound understanding of all facets of tax legislation
  • Interpretation of business trends
  • Analytical review of financial performance of client affairs utilising the latest software
  • Direct contact with clients and development of client relationships
  • Client base relates to high net worth individuals, listed entities, not-for-profit and large family groups
Qualifications
  • Strong background in Public Practice Accounting
  • Strong ability to provide analytical review of client businesses
  • Sound understanding of cash flows, business reporting and profitability
  • Excellent understanding of accounting packages, particularly MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks
  • Strong communication skills to respond to client queries and requests
  • Excellent written skills for corresponding with clients
  • High level of expertise in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • A minimum of 5 years public practice accounting experience
  • Degree qualification in a related field
  • CPA or CA certification is preferred or currently undertaking the certification would be highly regarded, but is not essential
