The Firm

Our client is a proudly independent and specialist Global firm with a focus on providing excellent service to a wide range of clients. For decades this firm has been the go-to for the industry on all matters relating to the creation, management, enforcement and commercialisation of intellectual property rights, including patents and designs.

The Role

The firm has a full-time ongoing role for an enthusiastic and experienced Legal Assistant who is ready to provide a friendly Partner and team of Associates with high-level legal support. Clients range from local Australian to global business, and matters include licensing deals, as well as drafting and prosecuting patent and trade mark applications.

Duties
  • Filing, monitoring, recording and reporting of patent and design applications using Patent File System
  • Updating the IP database to reflect the status of each patent or design
  • Preparation of documents and applications
  • Email and diary management
Skills & Experience
  • Experience within a patent / IP firm
  • Strong technical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and show initiative
  • Superior organisational and prioritisation abilities
