Your Opportunity

The Night Residential Care House Supervisor will provide supervision, support, coaching, and mentoring to a team of Night Residential Care Workers across the region to ensure high-quality, therapeutically focused care.

The supervisor will respond to staff queries, incidents, and concerns promptly. This role is vital in ensuring overnight safety plans for young people in out-of-home care are met and will be based on-site at the houses. Additionally, this position serves as a key contact for regional incidents in the broader Out of Home Care space.

On the Job, You Will :

  • Manage the nightly operations of the Residential Care homes.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to Residential Care Workers.
  • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements for program components.
  • Handle administration and accountability of annual budgets and program planning.
  • Embed a therapeutic framework by overseeing best practice implementation of children and young people's individual case management plans and fostering an outcomes-focused team.
  • Develop and assist with house rosters.

Your Skills and Experience :

  • Be a team player capable of effective collaboration with various stakeholders, prioritising the best interests of the young person.
  • Possess strong communication skills, active listening, and a commitment to maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to multitask with ease.
  • Show creative thinking and a non-judgmental approach to life.
  • Hold a driver's license (minimum green P's) for transporting young people.
  • Have a minimum Cert IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention or an equivalent qualification. Please see the link for more information:
  • Complete the mandatory upskilling units as required by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. Continuing employment depends on satisfactory evidence within 6 months of engagement.
