About the role:

MacKillop's Out of Home Care (OOHC) programs provide residential care, home-based care, lead tenant, and case management support for young people with high and complex needs, as well as a therapeutically oriented program for young people in protective placements.

Our Residential Services offer accommodation and support to children and young people referred through the Child Protection system. The Residential Care Worker participates in the daily operation of the unit, responding to the young person's emotional and functional needs, developing their personal skills, and managing administrative and household duties.

We are recruiting for day, afternoon, and active shifts.

Opportunities are available on a Full-Time, Part-Time, and Casual basis in the Southern Suburbs of VIC within our Out of Home Care Southern Services Program. The position reports to the Residential House Supervisor.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful, you will have:

- A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care) or a similar qualification in Youth Work.
- Experience supporting young people as a youth worker.
- Knowledge of trauma and its impact on development and behavior.
- A genuine interest in young people's wellbeing.
- Empathy for young people in our care, demonstrated in an open-minded and nonjudgmental manner.
- Strong emotional self-regulation skills, including setting and maintaining boundaries for safety and stability.

Requirements:

- Valid and current Driver's Licence;
