Overview

Clinical Nurse – Refugee & Global Health (Outpatient) – Fixed Term Part Time appointment until 30 June 2026 at 30.40 hours (0.4 FTE) per fortnight, with the possibility of extension. Join the Refugee and Global Health team at Perth Children's Hospital and coordinate care for refugee children with complex health needs.

About The Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Clinical Nurse to join the Refugee and Global Health team at Perth Children's Hospital and work closely with the Clinical Nurse Specialist to support and coordinate care for refugee children with complex health needs. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide advanced clinical expertise to ensure safe, evidence-based, and family-centred care. A key focus of this role will be contributing to our Multidisciplinary Refugee Rapid Assessment Pathway, helping families access timely diagnostic assessments, interventions, and essential supports such as the NDIS, Child Development Services, schools, specialist education programs, and other community and disability services. Your experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams, working effectively with interpreters, and advocating for the needs of children and families will be highly valued in this role.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinating safe and efficient outpatient care with medical, nursing, and allied health teams, streamlining hospital and community appointments for children with complex needs.
  • Collaborating with community health services, and partner organisations to deliver holistic, patient-centred care.
  • Liaising with the Community Refugee Health Service and other community-based providers to support continuity of care.
  • Providing clinical leadership by modelling best practice.
  • Supporting staff development, clinical education, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Engaging in quality improvement, research, and evidence-based practice to enhance patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Eligible for registration in the category of Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Minimum of four years' experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • A willingness to learn and embrace the unique challenges and rewards of paediatric nursing.
