The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is responsible for the statutory supervision of young people in the criminal justice system in Victoria focusing on prevention, diversion, and early intervention as the most effective and fiscally responsible ways of reducing youth crime.

Statewide Rehabilitation Services (SRS) is a statewide program that provides young people in custody and the community with developmentally targeted and multi-systemic offence-specific and offence-related assessments and interventions.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director, Statewide Rehabilitation Services, the Manager, Performance and Evaluation is responsible for monitoring, evaluating and reporting on service outcomes, performance and quality assurance.
  • Fixed term (Full-time/Part-time) position until 30 June 2027 based in Melbourne.
  • VPS Grade 6 role: $138,631 - $185,518 per year plus superannuation
  • The role will also be responsible for utilising subject matter expertise in forensic research and/or interventions to develop a monitoring and evaluation framework that is aligned with the Risk Needs and Responsivity (RNR) framework and measures clinical and forensic outcomes for young people based on an articulated logic model of change.
  • Operationalising SRS principles by leading continuous improvement initiatives and monitoring delivery of evidence-informed clinical practice.
  • Working closely with the SRS Management Group to provide evidence and insights to guide and support their management of local clinical practice and service delivery.

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting research, performance monitoring, evaluation and/or review of programs and policy
  • Demonstrated experience in knowledge translation through the interpretation, presentation and communication of quantitative and qualitative data to a range of audiences.
  • Experience in evaluation frameworks and stakeholder management, and in monitoring of complex service systems.
  • Subject matter knowledge in forensic clinical interventions or related areas such as criminology, psychology, social work or youth work

You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check, which you will need to maintain for the period of employment.
