About the Roles:
We're seeking two dynamic, student-focused leaders who are passionate about wellbeing, confident in inspiring young people, and driven to shape a thriving school culture. While the teaching component of the role is ongoing and permanent, the leadership aspect is offered as a valuable fixed-term opportunity for an initial period of three years, with potential for renewal or future leadership pathways. The Dean of Students (7-9) and Dean of Students (10-12) will:
- Together these roles will Lead pastoral care and student wellbeing across Years 7-12.
- Develop, implement, and refine student development programs and support initiatives.
- Support leadership structures, providing guidance to Year Advisors and Assistant Year Advisors.
- Co-lead transition programs (e.g., Year 9 to 10)
About You:
- A qualified and accredited teacher (NESA), with a valid WWCC.
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in secondary pastoral leadership (e.g. Assistant Dean, Head of Year) in an independent, coeducational school is desirable.
- Deep understanding of adolescent development and wellbeing frameworks.
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills with students, parents, and staff.
- Strong leadership presence, capable of managing complex pastoral cases and crisis response.
- High emotional intelligence, discretion, and respect for confidentiality.
