- THE ROLE

We are seeking an Accessibility Advisor to support students with disabilities at University through the implementation of education-related adjustments and delivering programs that promote student wellbeing and inclusion. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students’ university experience.
- WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- This role reports to the Manager - Accessibility within Student Wellbeing Services, a key unit in our commitment to student success. Your duties include:
- Assess, monitor an arrange reasonable adjustments for students with a disability, health conditions, mental health conditions and neurodivergent students to ensure equal access to their university studies,- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate and implement individual support arrangements, workshops, programs and initiatives for students with disability/accessibility needs in multiple formats (e.g. individual, group, online, etc.),- Assist students to develop skills in utilising accessibility software and technologies to support learning,- Collate, upload and maintain records in line with client privacy and confidentiality, legislative and funding requirements, utilizing appropriate systems and databases,- Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to advocate and arrange access and inclusion of students with a disability in all University activities/events,- Identify the need for and refer students to other relevant internal or external agencies, medical, allied health services and/or community services,- Identify, evaluate, escalate and report on potential risks in relation to students’ wellbeing,- Educate individuals and groups on topics that may include biopsychosocial health, disability, neurodiversity, inclusion and wellbeing,- Comply with relevant EEO and WHS regulations, and- Contribute to the development, implementation and/or improvements to administrative systems, processes and procedures on support services provided to students with a disability.
