Crest Nicholson's Midlands Division is recruiting for a Land Manager, to support our Land Director in managing all land acquisition and applications as part of the Development strategy.

The successful candidate will lead on the identification, initial research, and appraisals of new sites, focusing on negotiating and agreeing prices and terms directly with vendors and agents. A key aspect of this role is to have strong commercial acumen to assess project feasibility by liaising with internal teams on benchmarking, costing, and terms.

Your clear and open communication style in conveying planning and site information to each team is crucial to ensure high-quality work within set deadlines. This includes regularly reviewing and updating site valuations and budgets to reflect current proposals and values.

What are we looking for in a successful candidate?

  • Significant Land Management experience in the New Homes Development field
  • A solid understanding of land purchase processes and relevant legislations
  • Knowledge of design and construction processes
  • Confidence in chairing land meetings and engaging with consultants
  • High commercial acumen and awareness
  • Ability to build relationships and interact effectively with stakeholders
  • Strong organisational, planning, and workload management skills, with the ability to work under pressure
  • Confidence in leading presentations and group meetings
  • Vision, commitment, and enthusiasm for change
  • An influential character with strong listening and negotiation skills
  • Resilience and perseverance during challenging negotiations
  • Degree in a relevant discipline, e.g., Real Estate, Town Planning, Urban Planning, etc.
