Land Services Officer

The Northern Tablelands LLS region is bounded by Tenterfield in the north and Walcha in the south. The region extends between Warialda and Delungra in the west and reaches to the escarpment of the Great Dividing Range in the east. Our region lays claim to diverse geology, soils and variable terrain which support a broad range of vegetation communities as well as a mix of livestock grazing and cropping enterprises including cereals, legumes and oil seeds.
We're looking for someone to join our team. We need an experienced and highly motivated professional who wants to work as part of a larger team and to deliver accurate and contextual advice and development of certificates for approval under the Land Management (Native Vegetation) Code 2018. What you need to do this role;
- Demonstrated experience engaging and forming strong relationships with landholders
- Demonstrated ability to understand and accurately interpret legislation
- Demonstrated interest/curiosity in native vegetation and desirable that you are familiar with the use of botanical keys
- Demonstrated ability to follow processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience and/or qualifications in Land Management and/or Natural Resource Management
- Demonstrated experience in using Client Relationship databases and ArcGIS or equivalent platform
- Project management skills including reporting, planning and monitoring
These mid-level roles work with landholders in the implementation of land management legislation and assessment of related applications.
Our ideal candidates will have a positive and solution focused attitude, you'll be able to think creatively and solve complex problems for both yourself and others as they arise. You'll also be able to work both within a team environment and with limited supervision, simply getting things done.
