Overview

Join to apply for the Planning Officer role at Brimbank City Council. The role is a Full Time Permanent position based in Sunshine, offering a base salary of $108,150 - $120,324 per annum + Superannuation, with a 36 hour week and a Monthly RDO. Brimbank is one of Melbourne's largest municipalities with a diverse community and active infrastructure agenda.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to contribute to leisure, sport, recreation and community infrastructure planning within Council's Leisure and Community Facilities division.

Key responsibilities
  • Oversee the development and implementation of strategic documents, policies and projects that guide Council's approach to leisure, sport, recreation and community infrastructure and services.
  • Plan and coordinate Leisure and Community Facilities capital works.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver optimal project outcomes.
  • Communicate and consult with internal and external stakeholders to support project delivery.
Qualifications and experience
  • Degree qualification in leisure, sport recreation, community infrastructure planning or related area, with several years' experience in leisure, sport, recreation or community infrastructure planning, preferably in a local government setting.
  • Experience in developing and implementing sustainable initiatives and policy options for leisure, sport, recreation or community plans.
  • Demonstrated ability in policy development and implementation through analytical and investigative skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, liaison and communication skills, including well developed written and oral skills.
  • Local government experience is desirable.
  • Experience in managing collaborative projects across the organisation, including consultants, contractors, community and Council staff.
