We're seeking a Payroll Officer who thrives in a team environment, is motivated by deadlines, loves processes, and has an exceptional eye for detail.

Our HR Services Payroll team supports four Business Units (BU) that make up the Wesfarmers Industrial and Safety division.

In this key Payroll Officer position, you will work closely with one of our Business Units to execute our weekly, fortnightly, and monthly pay runs accurately and on time.

Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll processing including off-cycle pay runs
  • Partnering with your BU to develop understanding of roles, awards, and pay complexities
  • Analysis and audit of all payrolls, ensuring legislative and award compliance
  • Participating in system upgrade projects and continual improvement of payroll processes
  • Liaising with HR on employee appointments, terminations, remuneration, etc.
  • Performing ad hoc payroll duties as required

To be successful, you will have:

  • 2+ years proven experience as a Payroll Officer within a medium to large organisation
  • Strong experience in EA / Modern Award interpretation
  • Experience with medium-sized payroll and time and attendance systems like Ceridian (Preceda) and Kronos
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
  • Intermediate Excel and Outlook skills
  • Strong customer service skills
