As our Payroll Officer, you'll play a key part in supporting our people through accurate, compliant, and timely payroll services.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Payroll Officer to manage end-to-end payroll across our diverse workforce.
You will oversee payroll for employees in shift-based, on-call, and offshore roles, working closely with Operations, HR, and Finance to ensure seamless delivery.
This role suits a professional with strong technical payroll knowledge, commercial acumen, and the ability to navigate complex payroll scenarios.
Key Responsibilities
Process fortnightly payroll, including entitlements, allowances, and deductions
Interpret and apply Modern Awards accurately
Validate time and attendance data with rostering and operations teams
Maintain payroll records in line with legislative and company standards
Assist with onboarding, offboarding, reporting, and audit support
Respond to payroll queries from staff and managers professionally and promptly
Support continuous improvement and process documentation
What You'll Bring
Payroll experience in multi-site or operationally complex businesses
Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and Modern Awards
Familiarity with time and attendance/payroll systems (e.g., Humanforce, Employment Hero)
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups) for reconciliation and reporting
High attention to detail and discretion in handling sensitive information
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Experience in aviation, construction, emergency services, or FIFO industries is an advantage
