Millmerran State School is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Administration Officer to join our friendly and collaborative team. In this role, you will support a range of corporate service activities, which may include human resources, finance, and facilities management, or focus on a specific area within corporate services. You will also assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of services that support the school's operations. This temporary part-time position is offered at 0.69 FTE, 50 hours per fortnight.
About The SchoolMillmerran State P-10 School, located in the rural township of Millmerran approximately 80km south-west of Toowoomba, has served its diverse agricultural community since 1882. With modern facilities including over 20 classrooms, a science lab, Food and Fibre rooms, and a new Industrial Design and Technology workshop, the school supports innovative, hands-on learning. Students benefit from dedicated ICT spaces, wireless connectivity, and access to laptops. The well-maintained grounds feature an oval, cricket pitch, playgrounds, and access to local sports facilities. About The RoleAs the Administration Officer, you will support the delivery of corporate services within the school by undertaking tasks across a broad range of functions, including human resources, finance, and facilities management, or by focusing on a specific area of corporate services. You will also assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of these services in supporting school operations. The Administration Officer reports to the Principal, Executive Principal, or their nominated delegate.
Your ResponsibilitiesAs the Administration Officer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Contribute to the day to day management support staff within the school/college, including identifying corporate service issues, coordinating recruitment and selection, induction and training of support staff and where necessary, provide Injury Management support for staff.
- Interpreting departmental and school policies, guidelines and ensuring legislative and procedural requirements are met.
- Assist the Principal/Executive Principal/Business Manager in identifying workforce needs including maintaining accurate records, tracking staff data, monitoring staff replacement and ensuring all relevant compliance training is valid and current.
- Assist with the daily supervision of support staff by monitoring workloads, identifying workforce skills needs, and highlighting any performance issues to the Principal/Executive Principal/Business Manager, including research of professional development opportunities for support staff.
