About the roleThe Infant, Child, and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS) provides assessments, case management, and clinical interventions for children and young people (0-26 years) with mental health difficulties. The Senior Speech Pathologist will deliver high-quality clinical speech pathology assessments and consultations for children and youth with complex mental health challenges, trauma, or disabilities. The role is part of a multidisciplinary team with access to ongoing professional development and supervision. We are a growing, dynamic team dedicated to high-quality care and support.
About youTo be successful, you will possess:
- Recognised tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia membership, including evidence of professional development activities equivalent to Certified Practising Speech Pathologist requirements
- Ability to inspire, influence, lead, and motivate staff, contributing to a positive and compassionate organizational culture
- High-level analytical and investigative skills, including research, quality improvement, benchmarking, and resource identification
- Experience in assessment and delivery in one-to-one client models
- Capacity to utilise a parent capacity-building model
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Commitment to current clinical knowledge
- Advanced interpersonal skills, including communication, leadership, and conflict management
- Experience in supervision, coaching, mentoring, or peer support
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination guidelines and seasonal influenza vaccination is mandatory, with proof required prior to employment.
