Overview

Senior Manager Strategic Partnerships and Growth - Strategic Initiatives. Be the lead driver of funded business development and growth for Standards Australia (SA), responsible for identifying, qualifying, pursuing, and securing multi-year, high-value national and international project opportunities. The role focuses on developing partnerships to support funded work and winning competitive funding from governments, donor agencies, and multilateral institutions, building a strong, multi-year pipeline of projects and partnerships. Lead strategic market expansion, develop high-impact partnerships, and ensure SA is positioned as a preferred delivery partner for projects related to trade facilitation, capacity building, and industry development.

What You'll Do
  • Own and lead a strong pipeline of funded commercial and strategic partnerships
  • Lead end-to-end pursuit activities including market scans, opportunity tracking, qualification, capture planning, proposal development, and bid submission
  • Identify and evaluate new market opportunities aligned with Standards Australia's strategic priorities
  • Build business cases for new initiatives, service offerings and government submissions
  • Lead the development of bids and proposals, including expressions of interest (EOIs), tenders, and funding submissions
  • Maintain and develop high-impact relationships with key stakeholders
  • Represent Standards Australia in strategic forums and industry events
  • Track commercial performance and ROI of strategic initiatives
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on innovation and growth
About you
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, engineering, international relations)
  • Proven experience in managing funded projects, preferably in trade, capacity building, or standards development and a deep understanding of the frameworks used by donor agencies to support capacity and capability building work
  • Ability to identify market gaps and opportunities as well as build strong partnerships (personal and commercial) with relevant stakeholders and organisations
  • Understanding of the business development lifecycle, bidding and tendering processes
  • Strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, and best practices
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to engage with diverse stakeholders
  • Strategic thinking and ability to align projects with organisational goals
  • Strong understanding of policy development and the mechanics of government
