This role is an Australia-based, fully work-from-home position, with access to co-working spaces in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Job DescriptionMontu is transforming access to alternative healthcare, and Montu Brands is at the forefront of this change. We're looking for a Strategic Partnerships & Commercial Lead to drive commercial growth and shape the future of patient care through high-value partnerships.
This is a senior, high-impact role where you'll be responsible for spearheading growth within our market access channel and building strategic relationships across clinics, prescribers, suppliers, and broader industry partners. Unlike product-facing GP KAM roles, this position is focused on commercial strategy and partnerships at the clinic and corporate level, influencing prescribing through business levers rather than product detail.
What you'll doPartnership Strategy & Growth- Drive business development across Montu's network of ~160 medical cannabis clinics, identifying opportunities for growth and deeper collaboration.
- Develop partnerships beyond the clinic - including suppliers, Montu's Leafio and AlternaLeaf businesses, and potential cross-industry partners.
- Support corporate development initiatives and supplier relationships, contributing to procurement and broader synergy opportunities.
- Prospect, engage, and convert partners from first outreach through to deal closure.
- Negotiate agreements, drive partner-led revenue, and open new pathways for our field teams.
- Help refine KPIs and sales alignment as the business scales.
- Own strategic relationships with prescribing partners and clinics, acting as their go-to contact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams internally to ensure partnerships translate into measurable success.
- Track and report performance, ensuring compliance with TGA and regulatory frameworks.
- Share insights with senior leadership to inform ongoing strategy.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to spot commercial opportunities and think across business lines.
- Proven success in sales, business development, or partnerships within pharma, biotech, or medical devices.
- Strong track record of exceeding growth targets in regulated healthcare markets.
- Deep understanding of prescribing pathways, HCP engagement, and market dynamics.
- Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
- Commercially sharp, strategic thinker with the ability to turn insights into action.
- Skilled negotiator with strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Comfortable working autonomously while leading cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience in medicinal cannabis or emerging therapeutic areas (desirable).
- Understanding of TGA regulations, Authorised Prescriber pathways, and Special Access Schemes (desirable).
- You'll be joining a high-performing, fast-paced team where your work drives meaningful impact in a leading tech company at the intersection of healthcare.
- We offer benefits including access to SAGED courses, retailer discounts, full-time remote work, access to co-working spaces, mental health support through Unmind, private health insurance discounts, up to 8 weeks paid parental leave, swag kits, and home office equipment allowance.
- We are committed to facilitating a barrier-free recruitment process and work environment. If you require accommodations, please let us know so we can support your participation in our recruitment experience.
We are an equal opportunity employer. If you require any accommodations, we welcome you to let us know so we can work with you to participate fully in our recruitment experience.
