Overview

Ngarluma Aboriginal Corporation (NAC) is the Prescribed Body Corporate (PBC) for the Ngarluma people, the Traditional Owners of the land and waters around the Pilbara region in Western Australia.

Our role is to represent and support the cultural, social, and economic interests of our people. We are deeply committed to fostering sustainable economic opportunities while protecting and preserving Ngarluma cultural heritage.

We are seeking a skilled Implementation Officer to support the delivery of NAC's obligations under our Relationship Agreement with Woodside.

About the Role

This role will provide dedicated capacity to support NAC's governance, reporting, and administrative functions in delivering on the Relationship Agreement.

It will play a key role in ensuring continuity, strengthening organisational capability, and positioning NAC for future opportunities and engagement. The position is strategically important, helping to uphold current commitments while building the foundations for long-term success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support implementation, compliance, and administration of NAC's obligations under the Relationship Agreement.
  • Ensure continuity in governance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Coordinate and track deliverables across key areas of the agreement, including
    • Employment and training
    • Heritage
    • Environmental management
    • Business development
  • Maintain regular engagement with Woodside, including biannual reviews and monthly check-ins with the Woodside Agreements Advisor.
  • Scope and deliver initiatives aligned with both the Relationship Agreement and NAC's Strategic Plan 2024–2027—prioritising relevant workstreams such as capacity-building, policy review, and communications.
  • Manage project budgets and exercise financial delegations in line with NAC policies and agreement requirements.
  • Report on project performance, collecting and preparing information for output reporting and stakeholder briefings.
  • Develop tools, templates, and systems to improve transparency, reporting, and organisational readiness for future projects.
About You

You will be a highly organised and proactive professional with the ability to manage competing priorities, navigate complex stakeholder relationships, and work effectively in cross-cultural and remote environments.

Essential skills and experience
  • Demonstrated ability and interpersonal skills to work with Indigenous people at a community and organisational level and experience in cross cultural environments.
  • Proven ability to manage projects in cross-cultural and remote contexts, including setting work priorities, working under pressure, and meeting deadlines in line with project objectives.
  • Experience managing project budgets and exercising financial delegations.
  • Strong reporting skills, including collection and preparation of information for performance and output reporting.
  • Competent computer skills and capacity to adapt to new technology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of governance processes, compliance obligations, and reporting requirements.
  • Understanding of agreements in the areas of heritage, environment, business development, or training and employment.
Why Join Us?

This is a great opportunity to work at the intersection of community, culture, and industry, where your contribution will help shape sustainable outcomes for the Ngarluma people.

With a new CEO and an exciting period of growth, NAC is offering long-term development opportunities for the right candidate.

We value our people and offer:

  • 5 weeks annual leave per year
  • Salary packaging options to maximise your take-home pay
  • Ongoing training and career development opportunities

You'll be part of a supportive team, play a key role in a high-impact partnership, and help ensure NAC is well-positioned to deliver on its commitments and prepare for the future.
