Training Service Manager

About The Role

As the Training Service Manager, you will lead a high-performing regional team delivering vocational education and training (VET) services, funded programs, and employment initiatives across the region. This role requires a strategic thinker and strong communicator with the capability to build and maintain partnerships across government, community, education providers, and industry stakeholders.

You'll be the driving force behind operational excellence, stakeholder engagement, and staff development—ensuring that programs meet regulatory and contractual obligations, while improving training access and outcomes in your region.

About You –

You are a motivated and adaptable leader who brings a proactive, hands-on approach to team and project management. You're comfortable having difficult conversations, take initiative, and possess sound judgment. You're able to manage competing priorities and make decisions autonomously, while promoting an inclusive and collaborative team culture. You will have:
  • Proven leadership and people management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the VET system, Apprenticeships & Traineeships, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to analyse complex problems and develop practical, evidence-based solutions.
  • High ethical standards, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Experience in project management and delivering against strategic objectives.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential Requirements Of The Role
  • Current driver's licence and a willingness to travel
  • A Working with Children Check is an essential requirement for this role.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
