About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and community-focused Training Coordinator to join our Regional Centre team. In this key role, you will support apprentices, trainees, employers, and training organisations across the region to access and succeed in vocational education and training (VET) programs.

Education

You'll engage with both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities, promote education and employment initiatives, and help ensure the delivery of high-quality training services. Your work will help drive real outcomes for individuals, businesses, and the broader community. You will also :
  • Support students, employers and training providers to access and navigate VET and employment programs.
  • Provide culturally appropriate advice and support to both, internal and external stakeholders to increase training and employment participation and completion, especially for Aboriginal learners.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements among employers, students, and training providers.
  • Coordinate and oversee daily operations of Regional Centre staff, ensuring quality service delivery and program compliance.
  • Manage administration, reporting, and implementation of local training and employment programs.
  • Represent the department in the community, promoting initiatives and building local partnerships.
  • Undertake occasional field work and regional travel to engage directly with stakeholders and communities.

About You -
  • A culturally aware and people-focused approach to working with Aboriginal communities and service users.
  • Strong local community connections and a commitment to improving outcomes for mob through education and training.
  • Demonstrated experience managing people and leading teams in an administrative or service delivery setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Experience with project and program management.
  • Knowledge of the VET sector, apprenticeships, and traineeships.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

  • Current driver's licence and a willingness to travel
