Working location: Nepean Hospital within the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
Credentialing and privileging may be considered across other facilities in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.
Responsibilities The number of sessions will be equivalent to a 0.5 FTE, with shared on call requirements within the departmental roster.
Apply gastroenterology clinical knowledge and endoscopy skills; participate in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty.
Contribute to teaching and supervision of junior medical staff in line with contemporary best practice.
Engage in research concepts as required within the Department.
Qualifications and Selection Criteria Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997 and the Staff Specialists (NSW) Award; evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices relevant to the role.
Sound clinical knowledge in gastroenterology with contemporary endoscopy skills; demonstrated through clinical practice and participation in quality assurance activities.
High level interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision of junior medical staff.
Demonstrates professional behavior and acts as a role model for junior medical staff.
Sound clinical knowledge with a subspecialty in IBD or other subspecialty interest as evidenced by qualifications or post-Fellowship experience.
Familiarity with research concepts and a commitment to support basic, applied or clinical research as required within the Department.
Other Information Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997 and Staff Specialists (State) Award.

The position requires a Working with Children Check (WWCC).
Successful applicants will be required to obtain required vaccinations prior to commencing employment.
