The Role Brookton DHS is seeking passionate and motivated individuals to join their team as Special Needs Education Assistants to support teachers working with students who have a variety of disabilities and learning needs.
As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will work under teacher direction to assist with education programs and help promote a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Suitable applicants will assist the teacher in the delivery of planned education programs to assist students to reach their full potential through the development of their academic, social, emotional and physical skills including the operation of computers and digital technologies.
Ideally, suitable applicants should possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills which will be used to develop and promote the school's values, ethos and priorities across the school community.
Suitable applicants should build positive relationships with students and be passionate about creating positive futures for students.

Demonstrated good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team in the evaluation of educational programs, including special education and therapy programs where these have been implemented.
Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
