About the role

Join the team at The Armstrong Wellness Agency as a casual Support Worker/Cleaner in York WA 6302. In this role, you will provide invaluable support to NDIS psychosocial participants, helping them maintain their independence and quality of life. Your duties will include those below and other tasks as needed.

What you'll be doing

  1. Assisting clients with personal care such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
  2. Performing light housekeeping duties such as laundry, cleaning, and meal preparation
  3. Accompanying clients to appointments, school or social events as needed
  4. Providing companionship and engaging clients in activities to improve their wellbeing
  5. Maintaining detailed records, recording these in predetermined clinical records management software and reporting any changes in client condition to the management team

What we're looking for

  1. Previous experience in mental health support worker role
  2. A caring, patient, and empathetic approach when working with vulnerable clients
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively and clearly interact with clients and their families (English as first language is specifically required for this position)
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  5. A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle, comprehensive car insurance
  6. Lived experience or education in Cert IV Mental Health
  7. Knowledge/education in trauma informed practices, mental health diagnoses, ASD,ADHD and Intellectual Disabilities.
