1 week ago Be among the first 25 applicants Six Degrees are partnering exclusively with an Australian owned and leading Industrial Manufacturing business, recruiting for a Operations Manager based on-site in Drouin (in the outer East of Melbourne, towards Warragul).An exciting opportunity to lead the Manufacturing team on-site while taking on responsibility for all core site operations including Continuous Improvement, Safety & Quality at a site level.
Play a lead role in driving process and systems from a CI and operations perspective onsite.
Be the key stakeholder in continuing to drive the culture forward for the site and invest in its people by playing a supporting role with regards to up-skilling, coaching and training.As the Operations Manager you have the ability to think strategically and make smart business decisions while also leading the day to day operations of the site.
You are an enabler of growth and cost efficiency.Primary ResponsibilitiesProduction ManagementManage all areas of plant production to deliver products that meet the quality, cost, volume and service criteria.
Increase production, assets capacity while minimising waste.
LeadershipBe the key leader for manufacturing on-site, drive engagement across the shopfloor while adding value in terms of process.
Drive culture while empowering the team, as the business goes through a period of growth.
Help the team understand best practice while adding a layer of accountability across manufacturing.
SafetyPlan and prepare all operations budget and forecasts.
Be the key stakeholder on-site in terms of driving safety culture and performance.
Engage the shopfloor in terms of promoting a safety first culture while setting up appropriate structures for long term and sustained success.
Continuous ImprovementPromote and lead a CI mindset across manufacturing and core functions on-site.
Adapt relevant CI processes to the sites current needs and implement effectively while engaging the team across all levels.
OperationsAt the site level take on full responsibility for Production, Maintenance/Contract Management, Safety, Quality while being heavily involved and adding value across Supply Chain.
What will you need to be successful?Experience in similar leadership roles in Industrial Manufacturing or related industries Experience at the Operations or Manufacturing Management level – Ideally 5+ years leadership experience.
Proactive People leader with the ability to achieve results with a high level of emotional intelligence.
Breadth of experience across operations with the ability to add significant value across Production, Safety, Quality & CI.
