ABOUT THE ROLE
Connect Wanju (Connect and Welcome), a consortium between Palmerston Association Inc and Wungening Aboriginal Corporation, led by Palmerston Association, in partnership with the Department of Justice, delivers the General Court Intervention Program (GCIP) to improve access to treatment and support services for accused persons within the Court system.
Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Case Worker provides individualised case management and development of support plans to assist participants to achieve progress towards successful outcomes in the Connect Wanju program.
The position will manage a caseload of participants providing individual and group counselling services and onward referrals where needed, identifying and supporting engagement with community programs and services.
SELECTION CRITERIA (address these in your cover letter)

Relevant education or qualifications in social, behavioural or health sciences, counselling or equivalent experience.
Experience working with clients and populations from a diverse set of backgrounds including those from CALD backgrounds and/or Aboriginal clients
Experience working with clients presenting with complex and co-occurring needs
Demonstrated assessment skills and well-developed case management skills
Experience coordinating multiple service providers to deliver client/participant outcomes
Applied knowledge of a specific area of case management.
This may include;

o Alcohol and other drugs
o Mental Health
o Housing support
o Family counselling
o Social and cultural
o Education, vocational training or employment

Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team
Ability to deliver coaching and training through participant tailored methods
Well-developed report and case notes skills

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

WA Working with Children Card
Police Clearance (dated within the last 3 months)
WA Drivers Licence
Department of Justice Screening (we'll help successful candidates to apply)
