About the role We are looking for an authentic HR leader who can manage operational demands while influencing culture and driving reform.
Reporting to the COO and leading a skilled HR team, you will oversee enterprise bargaining, IR and ER, people systems, WHS and staff development.
This role combines strategic impact with day-to-day leadership, working closely with staff based in Darwin, Alice Springs and Timor-Leste.
Key responsibilities Lead a capable HR team across generalist, WHS, payroll and L&D functions Provide expert advice on employment relations, legislation and policy Deliver people strategies aligned with Menzies' broader objectives Support and guide enterprise agreement negotiations Drive implementation of the People Plan and new HRISPromote workplace safety and meet WHS obligations Lead change, build trust and strengthen internal relationships About you You will bring credibility, consistency and calm to a complex role.
We are looking for someone who can: Build trusted relationships and navigate diverse perspectives Guide teams through change and deliver practical solutions Balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery Provide confident advice on ER, IR and workplace legislation Apply strong emotional intelligence and a grounded leadership style Demonstrate cultural capability and genuine interest in supporting a diverse workforce Listen well, communicate clearly and lead with integrity You will be supported by a committed HR team who value open communication and shared learning.
Together, you will play a key role in delivering a high-performing and engaged workforce.
