About the opportunity: The Operations Manager Claims at Super SA is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Claims business unit, under the Associate Director Insurance Delivery.
The Operations Manager role involves providing strategic leadership and direction to ensure the implementation of a cohesive Claims function that meets the needs of staff, members, and stakeholders.
The Operations Manager will work with other management to continue to develop a culture committed to delivering the best member outcomes, manage staff concerns and resources, and drive continuous improvement in claims processes.
Where required, this will include managing performance and providing support and mentorship to Team Leaders.
The Operations Manager will also support the implementation of strategic projects, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and contribute to the effective management of the Claims business unit.
About you: You are an experienced Operations Manager with a strong background in staff management, continuous improvement, and ideally highly experienced with insurance claims and/or superannuation.
You excel in providing strategic leadership and direction, and are able to operate largely independently, taking initiative where appropriate.
Your ability to analyse and implement legislative and other business requirements, coupled with your strong interpersonal and communication skills, allows you to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
You are known for your creative and strategic thinking, and your commitment to achieving organisational goals through effective management and data analysis.
You will demonstrate significant dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
To be successful, you must address the selection criteria below in a cover letter: Extensive experience in staff management, including providing positive leadership, uplifting and influencing performance and performance management, with demonstrated success in increasing teamwork and conflict management.
Significant experience leading and influencing a team towards achievement in and compliance with service level standards, in addition to achieving individual key performance indicators Ability to analyse and implement legislative requirements and industry standards to achieve insurance claims and/or superannuation industry outcomes.
Capacity to exercise lateral, creative and strategic thinking, independent judgement and delegated authority where appropriate.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills which demonstrate a capacity to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders on a range of sensitive and complex issues to achieve positive outcomes.
