The Opportunity
We're seeking a proactive and versatile Operations & Project Manager to join our Industrial Services (IS) team. This role will be instrumental in providing whole-of-region support, driving standardisation, and managing projects across branches in SA and NT. Based in Adelaide, SA, reporting directly to the Regional Manager, you'll play a crucial role as a connector between branches, project teams, and customers, while enhancing safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
This is a diverse and hands-on position, suited to someone with an inquisitive mind and a collaborative approach who thrives in blue-collar operational environments. Your role will involve guiding branches in best practices to rolling out regional initiatives, supporting tenders, and customer liaison.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Operational Leadership: Champion standardised planning tools, oversee VMB implementation, and facilitate resource optimisation to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Project Management: Own the P&L and operational execution, provide risk control and reporting, interface with branches for regional projects, and lead operational input to bids and tenders.
- Safety & Compliance: Drive safety standards, monitor operator training levels, and enhance compliance metrics including DAMS and CoR performance.
- Team Development: Support Operations Managers and Supervisors in professional development, enhancing their capabilities and outcomes.
- Customer Engagement: Act as a key interface post-award, increasing connectivity and ensuring operational excellence.
- Branch Support: Provide coverage for Operations and Branch Managers during absences.
About You
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Experience: Background in commercial operations, logistics, or maintenance contracting in heavy industrial environments.
- Problem-Solving Skills: An inquisitive mind and ability to uncover and act on critical operational details.
- Collaboration: A natural ability to work across teams and branches to implement best practices and drive change.
- Project Management: Either familiarity/experience with project management fundamentals or a willingness to undergo PM training.
- Mentorship: A knack for mentoring and supporting team members to achieve excellence.
