About The RoleThe Senior Service Designer is responsible for taking a leading role in the design and delivery of complex service and system design work in a collaborative and agile way to support the government's 100 Public Preschools commitment and wider early childcare education reforms.
The role involves supporting projects and colleagues to collaboratively advance system and service design, deliver projects and drive improvements within tight timeframes.
This role supports the growth of design capability within the team and among colleagues through role modelling and demonstration.For further information please click here to view the role descriptionAbout YouThe ideal candidate will:Have strong experience in applying human-centred design methodologies and practice - including user research, qualitative synthesis, prototyping and facilitation - in a complex service environment, and enjoys demonstrating and role modelling design practices and skills to help others develop these skills.
Have strong experience in making design processes work effectively (in a government or similarly complex system environment).
Have strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience supporting multidisciplinary teams to align design and delivery streams.
Have experience contributing directly to service design projects while also supporting, monitoring and reporting the progress of projects or programs.
Possess an interest or background in Education, with a focus on early childhood education and care.
Essential Requirements Of The RoleA valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
Key Knowledge And ExperienceAn understanding and proven record in facilitating and supporting human-centred design and innovation practices across a large organisation.
Strong, demonstrated design experience including design research, concept development, experimentation, prototyping, facilitation and change management.
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience.
Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
