Multi-skilled Tradesperson

Add expected salary to your profile for insights Scots College, a leading independent day and boarding school for boys, is currently seeking a proactive and versatile Multi-Skilled Tradesperson to join our Facilities and Maintenance team at our Bellevue Hill campus.
In this vital role, you'll contribute directly to the upkeep, safety, and functionality of our beautiful school grounds and facilities, helping to create a well-maintained and inspiring environment for students, staff, and the wider College community.
About the Role As a key member of our Maintenance Department, you will: Perform a wide range of maintenance tasks across multiple trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, and minor electrical.
Conduct inspections and carry out repairs to ensure a safe and functional learning environment.
Support the delivery of school events by setting up infrastructure and equipment.
Collaborate with staff and contractors, and ensure all work complies with WHS regulations.
Key Responsibilities Conduct routine and reactive maintenance on buildings, fixtures, and fittings.
Perform carpentry repairs (doors, windows, furniture, etc.) and minor construction tasks.
Manage small plumbing tasks (leaks, taps, drains) and coordinate external contractors for major works.
Paint and repair internal and external surfaces.
Maintain external areas including fencing, walkways, and gardens.
Support event setups and operational logistics.
Ensure safe work practices and maintain tools and records through our digital ticketing system.
About You Relevant trade qualifications and/or experience in a mix of trades (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, painting, basic electrical).
High standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
Knowledge of WHS practices and risk management.
Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and show initiative.
Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Valid NSW Working With Children Check and current driver's licence.
Previous experience in a school or institutional setting.
Familiarity with digital maintenance management systems.
Basic computer literacy (email, reporting).
First Aid and CPR certification.
