Senior Payroll Specialist | Government Sector VPS4 Equivalent | 6-Month Contract Hybrid Work Arrangement - 2 Days Onsite in Melbourne CBDWe're partnering with a large government organisation to recruit a skilled Senior Payroll Specialist for a 6-month contract.
This role is ideal for a seasoned payroll professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and has advanced skills in Chris21.
Join a collaborative team supporting end-to-end payroll operations and enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work model - working 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.
Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end payroll processing on a fortnightly basis for a large workforce.
Process and maintain employee data including new hires, terminations, leave, and salary adjustments.
Administer superannuation and other payroll-related compliance tasks.
Investigate and resolve complex payroll queries and discrepancies with accuracy and care.
Support the continuous improvement of payroll procedures and assist in coaching junior team members.
Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate payroll services.
About You Extensive payroll experience in a large or complex organisation (public sector experience highly regarded).
Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with Chris21 is essential.
Strong problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Excellent understanding of relevant payroll legislation, awards, and entitlements.
Confident communicator with the ability to provide guidance to internal teams and stakeholders.
Strong Excel skills and the ability to generate reports as needed.
