Overview The Senior WHS Specialist will support Amazon's injury prevention and workplace health and safety program.
In this role, you will be part of the regional Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Team and will lead both health and safety and proactive activities across multiple sites within a specified region.
You will report directly to a Senior WHS Manager.
Responsibilities Dive deep to learn each site's opportunities within the region and identify risk-reduction efforts.
Lead and coordinate ergonomic assessments with guidance from the global ergonomics team.
Evaluate trends, analyze injuries across the region, and develop action plans to mitigate risk.
Ensure a collaborative and streamlined approach so site WHS teams follow established project management mechanisms.
Identify and define measurable project objectives and outcomes for the region, ensuring collaboration and scalability.
Support the site teams' execution of Wellness and health programs and improve Wellness services performance at a regional level.
Create and deliver weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly business reports to key stakeholders.
Maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues in the workplace.
Analyze accident data, new processes, and potential solutions for safety concerns; conduct job hazard analyses and stakeholder management; forecast risks.
Lead large projects across multiple sites and work with multiple stakeholders.
Implement lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
This position will be based at a fulfilment center and require travel throughout Australia.
Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in workplace health and safety, occupational safety, ergonomics, kinesiology, or a related field.
Experience in an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist, Injury Prevention Specialist, Risk Reduction or related role.
Working knowledge of Australian WHS laws, WHS Act, Regulations and Codes of Practice.
Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in workplace health and safety, occupational safety, ergonomics, kinesiology, or related field.
Distribution Center or Manufacturing WHS experience with a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site with at least 250 people.
Certified Safety Professional.
