About the Role

A key opportunity has become available for a HSQE Manager to oversee Construction and Mining divisions.

The successful candidate will provide ongoing advice and support to managers, supervisors, and employees to ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with our Management System.

This role will assist in implementing our group Strategy and initiatives aligned with our strategic objectives and business plans in these areas.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced HSE Specialist to join our team. This is a challenging role that requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a passion for Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management.

The successful candidate will have experience working in a similar role within the construction and mining industries, and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Embed WHS and environmental management into our organisational culture.
  • Ensure processes and procedures across the divisions are relevant, complete, underpin efficient operation, and are standardised where appropriate.
  • Assist in project pre-planning to guarantee project procedures and specifications reflect WHS and environmental factors.
  • Support operational teams with HSE activities and initiatives on permanent and temporary sites.
  • Provide guidance and ideas to operational teams to help meet their safety obligations.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections on projects and key contracts.
  • Deliver safety process and system training to supervisors, managers, and other employees as required.
  • Support the development and implementation of new HSE programs and training initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Formal qualifications in Work Health and Safety and Auditing.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role within the construction and mining industries.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Practical experience using safety management systems software.
  • General knowledge of business and management principles involved in coordinating people and resources.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Flexibility to travel and visit project sites and remote mining sites across Australia.
  • Construction Industry White Card.
  • Applied First Aid competency.
  • Current driver's license.
