KAMS has successfully delivered high-quality, accessible comprehensive primary health care services over its 30 years of operation and has provided innovation and national leadership in areas such as health information management and evidence-based best practice in primary health care.
The Kimberley region is located in the northern part of Western Australia and covers about 421,000 square kilometres.
The Kimberley has only three towns with a population of more than 2,000 (Broome, Derby and Kununurra), and the total population is around 37,000.
Access to much of the region is by dirt road, air or sea, with some areas accessible via sealed routes.
About the Opportunity KAMS now has a rewarding opportunity for a Kutjungka Health Centre Manager to join their multidisciplinary team based in Balgo, WA.
This role is offered on a full-time basis with a 6 weeks on, 3 weeks off roster.
The successful candidate will be a Remote Area Nurse or an experienced operational leader, providing management oversight to the Kutjungka Health Centre staff, working as part of a multidisciplinary team, and responsible for delivering comprehensive primary health care services and programs, including emergency care, under the ACCHS Model of Care.
Key responsibilities include: Leading a multidisciplinary team and coordinating external health service providers to deliver quality primary health care to the community under the KAMS Model of Care; Managing daily operations, staff supervision, and coordination of health service delivery at the centre; Overseeing the operational budget in consultation with the Executive Manager, Remote Services, including financial management and Medicare income generation; Supporting the role of the Aboriginal health workforce to improve health outcomes; Directing clinic staff to provide professional, evidence-based primary health care utilizing a holistic and culturally appropriate approach.

About You You will be a Registered Nurse or Practitioner with current AHPRA registration, with at least 5 years postgraduate experience, and previous experience in a similar role with knowledge of primary health care and emergency services.
You should possess strong leadership and management skills, a good understanding of cultural safety, and a commitment to Aboriginal community-controlled health principles.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and report-writing skills, with the ability to effectively engage with Aboriginal communities, are essential.
Experience within Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations is highly regarded.
Mandatory requirements include a current "C" class manual driver's license, ability to travel by road and small plane, and willingness to undergo police and working with children checks.
